Treading Water

February 21st, 2011

It seems almost surreal to think that just weeks ago a vast portion of Brisbane was under water.  It seems almost like it never happened – like a dream.  But for us who weren’t directly hit by the floods we can move on, move back to our lives as they were.  The floods just being a strange frightening occurrence, a once in a lifetime deal.  But for those who were hit, whose possessions were sucked away – their live will be forever altered.   Jason and I wanted to do more – we have been tossing around ideas not really sure which would be most helpful – and then Jacob contacted us about being involved a fundraising event he was organising called Treading Water.  A couple of bands, some giveaways, some way for us all to keep letting people know we care.  I would love it if you all could come – other than listening to some great homegrown music – you will also be able to win a $1000 portrait session with us.  Entry is $10 and will go towards the flood victims – to help rebuild their lives and allow them to move forward.  So mark it in your diaries – at the Lightspace on Thursday 17 March at 6pm and for more info join their facebook page here!
