Classic Inspiration

October 21st, 2010

Robert Doisneau, Kiss by the Hotel de Ville, 1950

I love this image and have for a very, very long time.  Besides the fact that it is in Paris (one of my all time favourite cities), to me this image screams romance.  A lot of people would consider it a cliche – but I consider it a classic.  It captures all of the things I hope our photography does –  natural pose, real emotion, classic styling – although it is clearly from a different era it is still timeless and that is what great photography is at its best.  You really feel like you are right there with the couple in that unique moment in time, for the briefest second, and then it is gone.  Except Doisneau captured it for us to enjoy and swoon over, forever…

Sunshine Coast Wedding Photography – Jacob and Laura

October 6th, 2010

Laura and Jacob are just recently back from their honeymoon and I promised I would put them up on our site as soon as they touched down.  I am a little late – better late than never, I say – but it was so worth the wait.  Laura has put so much thought and style into every little detail that we hope these photos do her wedding justice.  (If you guys want more just drop me a note in the comments and we will put more up!) Each and every detail was lovingly sourced from the Poppies for Grace stationery to the Diptyque candles to the great, personal Etsy finds.  I am in love with the linen pears that adorned the table – so graceful and unique.  And of course we have to mention Laura’s outfit – a stunning Willow dress and too-fabulous Miu Miu shoes which were a gift from her husband-to-be (now that makes him a serious keeper in my eyes!!)  We hope you enjoy!

No Laura didn’t vaporise – the ground was very wet so she did what we all would do – she protected the shoes!

And now the details…

Hello lover!!!  What a pair of shoes…ooh lala

The Groom’s shoes are pretty spectacular as well!

As an aside how wonderful is The Plantation at Cooroy.  I love the colonnade of silver birches that creates such a wonderful and dramatic atmosphere.

welcome
