Father Rabbit

January 9th, 2012

I don’t know about you, but there are things in this world that I am constantly searching for.  The best cup of coffee, the most rustic loaf of bread, the softest sheets, and lately, the perfect, white towel.  Trust me, my pursuit for perfection, my unrelenting standards if you will, makes for some mighty interesting shopping expeditions.  (Seriously, just ask my friend Cath.)  For the last couple of years, I have been looking and looking for the perfect, white towel.  It has been a long, sad and frustrating (not too mention expensive) search – they are all too thick so they don’t dry quickly enough (and no one likes a wet towel!!!) or the woven band sits too far down the towel and causes it to bunch over time making them not hang straight and they must be 100% cotton so they can be bleached to maintain their crisp whiteness, time and time again.  In my search I have tried them all – Sheridan, Country Road, Peri, you name it – they are all ok, some good, but none, great.  So I was trawling through the web one day, bouncing from website to website (as you do) and I came across a New Zealand online shop called, Father Rabbit.  I stopped and had a look around.  The site, had me at hello, if you know what I mean.  There is some seriously nice thing on the site and then, lo and behold, I came across their towels.  Now I know what you are thinking, it is brave for someone like me with such unrelenting standards to even contemplate buying anything online, (and I have failed so many times that I am giving up on internet shopping for good, mark my words) but the photos made me stop and ask myself – could this be it?

These towels were perfect – white, thin but not too thin, soft and plump looking but not too dense, and they had a straight selvedge edge so no bunching just a nice clean line.  So before I knew it – they were in the cart and on their way to me.  They arrived a while ago and we have been using them enough to say that they are the, and I don’t use this term lightly, holy grail of towels, people!  They are absolutely 100% PURR-fect.  I would change ABSOLUTELY nothing.  I mean how many things in your life can you say that about????  5 star gold standard.  Thank you Father Rabbit, no, no, thank you!

welcome
