Will + Deana

March 14th, 2012

I have been sitting here, staring at the screen, for the last ten minutes not really knowing where to start with this post.  I mean, I could talk about how stunning this couple are, both inside and out and how their wedding was filled with that real warm love, you know what I mean, love that you can actually feel, like warm, golden sunshine on your back on a cold winter’s day.  Or I could talk about how beautiful everything was, from the boys in their tuxedos (seriously men – listen up – you should just wear these EVERY day!), to the girls in their beautiful, bright coral gowns and their amazing, amazing shoes, to the luscious flowers to the stained glass window in the chapel – all so stylish and honest and meaningful and beautiful.  Or I could talk about the fun everyone had – the laughter and tears and the crazy dancing and tom foolery that went on in the raucous reception (complete with impromptu guest sing-alongs!) – such a wonderful group of friends, all present and giving of their happiness to Will and Deana on their wedding day.  This wedding – it had it all, and then some, so it is really hard to choose which part I should focus on for this post.  But then as I sit here, I slowly realise that photographs, they say a thousand words.  And so with that, I leave you to look and experience this amazing, love filled wedding day – honest, fun and relaxed with a massive dollop of old world charm and tradition.  Congratulations Will and Deana – yours is really, something special.

All the stationery was designed by The Hungry Workshop in Melbourne.  Great job guys!

Aren’t the shoes fab?  And I totally love the boys’ socks as well.  What a great, cheeky surprise!

Who said a rainy day wedding couldn’t be fun?

Cheering on the impromptu guest performer!

Joshua + Jerry Engagement Portrait

March 10th, 2012

We often get clients saying that they are really nervous in front of the camera, that they don’t like having their picture taken or they have never liked a single photograph of themselves.  And to be honest, I totally get where they are coming from.  That was so me for the first half of my life.  GAH – the horror, the horror, of looking at my old photos…shudder.  But like pretty much everything else in your life – like getting your eyebrows done, to fixing your car engine, to installing a light fixture – sometimes hiring a professional makes all the difference.  And I’m telling you, having photographs taken by a professional photographer with a professional camera with years of experience is light years away from those dreadful photos you have taken by Aunty Vera at your cousin Cameron’s 21st.  (And there is no way I am showing you those!!!)  Of course, Joshua and Jerry have none of these problems – relaxed in front of the camera, gorgeous pictures and photographs that show how much in love they are.  That is what a professional brings to the table – and why it is so important to get someone experienced and capable taking your wedding photographs.  Cause can you just imagine your old Aunt Vera with her little, ancient point-and-shoot camera, yelling “CHEESE” every five seconds while she holds her finger over half the lens on one of the most important days of your life?  Oh dear – now that is something to be nervous about.

welcome
