Envy

September 4th, 2011

My mother was recently told that she would be blind for the rest of her life.  To say that she has been adjusting would be an understatement.  As you can imagine, I have been running around trying to get things sorted, if that is at all possible.  Let’s just say that last week wasn’t one of the best I’ve had.  It was during one of the worst days that we saw this amazing lady hopping into her pristine Valiant Charger.  We stopped her and asked how long she’ s owned it. “Since new” she said.  I guess given my state of mind that day, I asked if her kids have been trying to get her into something, you know, smaller, easier to manage.  She just laughed.  No way, was her reply.  I am so envious.  Both of her car, and her attitude.

Adam + Ally Engagement Portrait

August 25th, 2011

One of the downsides of my job is that I very, very rarely get to meet any of our couples.  Although I am the voice on the phone and the person who deals with our clients the most, most, if not all, of the times clients meet with Jason and I’m out or tucked away in the office cranking the machine that is Studio Sixty Photography!  (Also, and I’m coming clean here – I am usually sitting in the office in my stinking running gear not fit for any kind of human interaction – even Crinkle, our dog, moves away from me!)  Anyway, Ally and I have had many a conversation  – organising booking forms and meetings and engagement portraits and the like – but we have never actually met.  You know, face-to-face met.  It is really funny because when I see photos of our clients for the first time -I have this kind of deja vu but not kind of feeling.  It is like the voice and images all come together in my mind and I have that Oh, yeah moment when they become one.  For whatever reason I didn’t imagine that Ally wore glasses nor did I think Adam has green eyes – but now – it is like how could I have imagined them any differently from how they are in these photos.  Anyway – we hope you guys like them – I love them and I love that they do indeed look like you and not just my mind’s version of you!

welcome
