Black and Yellow

March 25th, 2011

In my recent trawl through etsy (somebody is going to have to stop me soon, I am addicted!) I found this gorgeous soap company called Morning Calm.  They operate out of South Korea where (I swear) all of the cool stationery comes from and now, it seems, all the beautiful handmade soap.  I love these two colours – black and yellow – together.  Hwasoon Kim‘s soaps look almost translucent like precious stones such as amber and agate.  I love how, in this day and age, you can get to know a little bit more about the producer of a product you have bought through their personal blog – it makes the transaction more like those in centuries gone by.  Funny how the internet has helped bring that facet of our past back to us.  The black soap I bought is made from charcoal and 50% of the proceeds go towards the earthquake relief in Japan.  The yellow soap is a mild soap with “soft, tender bubbles”.  Pretty keen to see what that is like – most of the soap you buy strips everything from your skin so anything tender and soft is for me!  I spend so much time in the shower – in the morning, after exercise, before bed – and I find it so boring.  Hopefully my new soap can change all that.

welcome
