Ben + Rachael

August 29th, 2011

How lucky are these two?  Rachel and Ben were lucky enough to have a lot of overseas family and friends at their wedding.  I’m sure the main attraction was to see these two get married but you can’t help think that a little bit of our perfect Queensland weather would have – how do you say? – sweetened the deal!  I always look at the weather forecast leading up to a wedding so I couldn’t believe it when the forecast for the week was rain, rain, rain.  I mean it was blowing an absolute gale on Saturday – crazy, vertical rain and howling wind and bitter cold – and then BAM up comes a corker of a Sunday with lovely blue skies, light breeze and strangely warm weather.  Apparently Ben has some pretty powerful connections.  You know, with the man upstairs, who manages the weather.  I just couldn’t believe how picture perfect it was for their beautiful outdoor ceremony and reception at the grand Glengariff Historic Estate.  Really, the photos speak for themselves, don’t you think?  Rachel and Ben also had the fabulous Anne Campbell, as their celebrant – she really does know how to celebrate all the joy and love at a wedding as you can see.  Congratulations Rachel and Ben – and Ben if you could pass on the details of the man upstairs for me that would be greatly appreciated!  (I also wanted to say a quick shout out to my doppleganger, Sally the Foxy – because all Sallys are foxy, didn’t you know!)

No Hot Toddy’s here!

Here is little Sally – see how foxy she is?

Adam + Ally Engagement Portrait

August 25th, 2011

One of the downsides of my job is that I very, very rarely get to meet any of our couples.  Although I am the voice on the phone and the person who deals with our clients the most, most, if not all, of the times clients meet with Jason and I’m out or tucked away in the office cranking the machine that is Studio Sixty Photography!  (Also, and I’m coming clean here – I am usually sitting in the office in my stinking running gear not fit for any kind of human interaction – even Crinkle, our dog, moves away from me!)  Anyway, Ally and I have had many a conversation  – organising booking forms and meetings and engagement portraits and the like – but we have never actually met.  You know, face-to-face met.  It is really funny because when I see photos of our clients for the first time -I have this kind of deja vu but not kind of feeling.  It is like the voice and images all come together in my mind and I have that Oh, yeah moment when they become one.  For whatever reason I didn’t imagine that Ally wore glasses nor did I think Adam has green eyes – but now – it is like how could I have imagined them any differently from how they are in these photos.  Anyway – we hope you guys like them – I love them and I love that they do indeed look like you and not just my mind’s version of you!

welcome
